What we do
Draft surveys on ships and barges are the core of our practice. We attend terminals across the Sabine–Neches and Texas Gulf Coast for owners, charterers, traders, and cargo interests.

- Baked Calcined Anodes
- Scrap metals — pig iron, shred, clips, P&S (plate & structure)
- Finished metals — coiled wire rod, coiled rebar, billets

The role
Attend ships and barges at Sabine–Neches terminals. Issue draft surveys, supervise loading for safe transit, and sample cargoes for third-party or terminal labs. Heavy focus on petroleum coke, anodes, scrap, and finished metals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial, intermediate, and final draft surveys on ships and barges to industry tolerance (±0.5%).
- Supervise loading of barges to assure proper stowage and trim for safe transit.
- Monitor loading and discharging operations dockside and document any stevedore damage.
- Sample materials (Green/Raw Pet Coke, Calcined Pet Coke, Baked Anodes, scrap, finished metals) and deliver to third-party or terminal laboratories under chain of custody.
- Read drafts, sound tanks, and verify density and trim corrections.
- Issue same-day reports with full photo evidence.
- Coordinate with terminal operators, agents, and vessel crew during attendance.
Qualifications
- Experience as a marine surveyor, deck officer, barge loader, or terminal superintendent welcomed — we will train the right person.
- Comfortable boarding vessels and barges at berth in all weather.
- TWIC card or eligibility to obtain one within 30 days.
- Valid US driver's license; able to lift 40 lb and climb pilot ladders.
- Strong written English; defensible reporting under deadline.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn — we are always looking to grow.
